Catching Development
Develop the Complete Catcher.
Catching is not an additional service Justin recently added. It is a major part of his baseball background.
Justin played catcher collegiately, coached ten seasons at the NCAA Division II level, and later served as Catching Coordinator at NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb University.

The Position
Development Areas
A complete catcher is built one skill at a time — on both sides of the plate.
01
Receiving
Present pitches cleanly and steal strikes at the edges of the zone.
02
Blocking
Keep the ball in front and give pitchers confidence in the dirt.
03
Throwing
Build quick, accurate footwork and arm mechanics behind the plate.
04
Setup
Find a stance that is comfortable, repeatable, and built to move.
05
Movement
Develop the athleticism to cover the zone and the ground around it.
06
Game Calling
Learn to sequence pitches and adjust with a plan, not a guess.
07
Communication
Talk to pitchers, infielders, and umpires with clarity and calm.
08
Leadership
Set the tone for the defense from the one position that sees it all.
09
Understanding the Game
Read situations and think a step ahead of the moment.
Catching is about much more than receiving a baseball.
Like hitting, every athlete does not need to look exactly the same.
The goal is to help each catcher move efficiently, develop reliable skills, understand the position, and become someone the pitcher and team trust behind the plate.
